So Lucy has a princess obsession as of late and here's a couple movies for illustration. The first one was take right after a wedding yesterday. To help keep her quiet, so we thought, we convinced her that the bride, Abby, was a princess. This just resulted in Lucy shouting "Princess!" multiple times during the ceremony, guess there could have been worse taunts shouted. The second one is her pronunciation of Cinderella.

Beans in our Ears
My dad sent me this song last night and I thought it was appropriate considering our last post. Enjoy!

What goes in, must come out!
Yesterday Lucy got a new necklace that she let puppy wear while they took a nap. After she woke up, Lucy broke the necklace. I got her up and noticed she had a bead in her ear, so I got it right out. We picked up all the beads in her bed and threw them away.
Well, unfortunately there were still beads in her room that I didn't see. She must have found them though, because while we were at a wedding today we noticed another bead in her ear. This one was a little harder to get out but still not a big issue.
However, after her bath tonight she was messing with her right ear a bit and while Lucy and Mommy were playing a game, Lucy's Mommy thought she wasn't hearing as well as normal in that ear. We got out a flashlight and checked pretty thoroughly, sure enough we found another bead, this one was too far in for us to get out.
We paged the oncall doctor, but after waiting an hour without receiving a phone call, we went to the ER. We drove to St. Francis as we like that hospital better, but the waiting room was packed, so we took a chance and drove to Community South. There was no wait and we were in and out in 30 minutes after the doctor used water irrigation to float the bead out. Lucy is sleeping well now and was pretty good at the ER, having Shrek on the portable DVD player certainly helped.
Note: The bead is very small, just a couple millimeters across.
Below are some pictures from the wedding reception today. The bead is not visible. :)

Happy Halloween!
Unfortunately I could not convince Lucy to wear her puppy costume for Halloween, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the costume she did choose to wear.

Lucy's Web 2.0 Savvy
This one is from May 2008 but thought it was cute enough to post. Not to give too much away but she was a little scared and in awe of this for the first couple minutes but once she adjusted it was a lot of fun. Kristol couldn't get the camera quick enough to catch her when she was just quietly staring at me.

What Color is this?
So I've started to compile a few of the movies that have been piling up and will try to post them soon. Here's one of my favorites from a couple weeks ago. She's not much better with colors now but can count to ten leaving out 8 most of the time.
Get this thing off me
So Lucy has started to enjoy sleeping in or when she wakes up just hangs out in bed until you get her up, no more yelling for daddy at 6:45 am. This is normally a good thing but yesterday I turned off my alarm before I was fully awake, about 8:45 am I received a phone call that woke me up. I went to check on her and she was awake but just laying in bed on her pillow still content. I decided to get dressed before getting her up and about 10 minutes later I hear her calling, "daddy, daddy." To my surprise when I went in her room she was standing up without a diaper on and had went potty in the bed. I think she was happy to have the diaper off but had enough of it once her bed had a big wet spot.

Winnie the Poop
Yes, you read that right! Last night, Lucy brought me a Pooh video and said "Mommy, watch poop!" It took me awhile to figure out that she was talking about Pooh! Oh, the things she comes up with.

She's a good sport
Lucy had the hiccups the other day, so being the good mom that I am, I tried to scare the hiccups out of her. I came up behind her and yelled "ROOAARR!!", which caused her to fall over face first. She then proceeded to get right back up and go back to whatever she was doing, like nothing ever happened. Unfortunately, I didn't scare the hiccups out of her, but I think she's prepared to take just about anything that's thrown at her in stride!

Lucy's Favorite Movie
and the winner is ... Shrek! She is constantly saying 'Wat Dona', which means 'Watch Fiona'. She loves Fiona on Shrek and is pretty much infatuated with princesses at this point in time. I read Sleeping Beauty to her about 5 times last night! Maybe we'll be able to get her that princess costume after all instead of the Saint Bernard costume that she picked out a month ago!

Love, Mommy
Lucy, I didn't do a one year post for you and I'm regretting it. I want you to be able to look back at this blog one day and find out a little bit about who you were. So, instead I'll do a one and a half year post for you. Here are just some of the things that we love about you.
I love it when ...
I love your beautiful blue eyes!
Lucy, you are a precious gift from God and we love you so much! Thank you for bringing us so much joy. We love you!!
I love it when ...
- You say "Hand" when you want us to hold your hand and follow you.
- You wave goodbye after I sing you your good night song (Jesus Loves Me).
- You say "De do?" when you want to play with play-doh.
- You say "Hello, hello?" when you want to play with mommy's cell phone.
- You call yourself "Sucy".
- You say "Puppy, puppy".
- You say "Airpa!" when you hear an airplane (or a motorcycle).
- You say "Hi!" to everyone you see, like they're your best friend in the world.
- You say "I ya ya" for "I love you".
- You say "Yaaaaaaay!" and clap for yourself when you do something you're really proud of, like walking down a step or hanging the phone up at grandma's house.
- Scared you are when you hear police sirens or a fire engine. You just cuddle right up to me and won't let me put you down until I reassure you many times that the policemen and the firemen are not coming to get you.
- You fold your hands and say "Pray"
- You brush your hand across your chest and say "Pease."
- You say "Gabby, Gabby?" ALL the time! You really love to play with Gabby.
- You say "Outside?" almost as much as you say "Gabby".
- You love pushing your stroller! When we get home from school, you say "Stroller, stroller?".
- You love to be tickled. There's a game we play where you say 'No!' and then I say 'You don't tell mommy no!' and then I tickle you for a good 30 seconds. Then I walk away and you say 'No!' and it starts all over again.
I love your beautiful blue eyes!

Tickle Me Lucy
Last night as we were driving home from dinner, Lucy was in quite the silly mood. I would tickle her and then she would say "Please, please. More, more". Lol, too cute!

Oh, shoot!
Lucy's newest phrase is 'Oh, shoot!' She says it all the time. For instance, as we were driving down the road, I hear 'Oh, shoot!' and I look back to see that she has dumped the goldfish she was eating all over the floor.
Another 'Oh, shoot' moment occurred last night when we couldn't find Puppy. As I carried her around the house calling for Puppy, she kept saying 'Oh, shoot' over and over and over! Gotta love her!

Dancing Queen
Check out this video of Lucy dancing to the music at the end of Shrek. I apologize in advance, I haven't quite mastered the art of dancing and shooting a video at the same time and I'm no Madonna. However, Lucy is quite the dancer, so I think her moves will make up for my shortcomings!

A Lesson in Sharing
I took Lucy to the doctor yesterday to get her 15 month shots. Afterwards, I decided she deserved a strawberry milkshake, so we stopped by McDonald's. I asked her to 'share' with mommy every once in awhile, in order to control the amount of strawberry milkshake she was consuming, of course. At one point it was mommy's turn to take a drink and Lucy grabbed the milkshake and said 'Share!' I guess mommy got a lesson in learning how to share! :)

Potty Training
So, Lucy's daycare has been working on potty training the kids in her class as of late. They told us that Lucy has been really interested and loves it when it's her turn to sit on the potty. So, I decided to get her a potty of her own at home.
Now let's get this straight, we have not officially started potty training her. We've just got it around in case she decides she wants to try it out.
On Saturday night, Granny and Papaw (my mom and dad) were watching Lucy for us while we went out to dinner and wouldn't you know it, she went on the potty!! Granny said she had just finished giving her a bath and Lucy kept pointing at the potty. So, Granny put her on the potty and she did her little shiver and then she went potty! I thought about taking pictures, but David wouldn't let me, so you've been spared a picture of Lucy's first trip to the potty.
Anyway, I guess Lucy has decided that it's time to start potty training! As a side note, Lucy has asked to go to the potty several times since then, but she hasn't actually gone potty, so she's not a potty einstein or anything! We'll keep you updated!

Vaca Pics!!
It's taken me awhile, but I've finally picked some vacation pics to show you! Here they are!
We had a wonderful vacation in Naples! It did rain for about 5 days straight, so that's why there aren't a lot of beach pics. We spent a lot of our time shopping and eating out! We hope to do it again soon!

Fun in the Sun
We met David's parents at Columbian park in Lafayette a few weeks ago. If you haven't been there, you really should check it out. They have several different playgrounds, one for each age group, a train, a zoo, a water park, and a couple of rides that are good for little ones, probably ages 3 - 6. Here a couple of pictures that we took while we were there:
