Life with a Toddler

Life with a toddler is bittersweet. We are enjoying the multitude of kisses and hugs, the new accomplishments (like knee walking) and David is enjoying hearing an excited Da-Da when he comes home from work (She seems to have forgotten how to say Ma-Ma). But we are also learning how to handle the tantrums - like the 'I want that banana and I want it now' tantrum or my personal favorite, the 'How could you take that dog food away from me' tantrum. I'm sure there will be even more trials along the way, but we wouldn't trade her for the world.

Lucy's First Haircut!!

Lucy was so good during her first haircut! She was looking a little scraggly, so Mommy decided it was time to clean her up a little bit. Here are some pics:

Lucy's 1 year appointment

We forgot to post Lucy's stats from her 1 year appointment last week. She was measured at 20.5 lbs and 30" long, 35th and 90th percentile respectively. No wonder we're having trouble finding 18 month pants that don't fall off her.

Lucy's Big Saturday

Lucy had a busy Saturday. We got a couple inches of snow Friday night and decided to take her out in the morning. She didn't play long but was having fun the first minute or two.

Later that day we drove to Crawfordsville and celebrated Cobi's 4th Birthday, Lucy's cousin. Everyone was in on the action for some friendly Wii Sports Baseball and Bowling. Lucy soaks it all in, waiting to snatch the Wiimote from Great Grandpa Harris.

Our elusive mouse finally decided to show herself during the day, they always return to the scene of the crime.

The Q-Tip is Mine!

She walks on water!

No, not really, but she walks on land!! :) Lucy took her first steps today and mommy and daddy were both there to witness it! I have a video of one or two steps that I will post soon, but she really did take 3 - 4 purposeful steps to get a q-tip from daddy! I know, I know, the things we do to bribe our kids, but it worked!!

We took Lucy to the park on Sunday. It was a beautiful day. She had a fabulous time swinging and going down the slide! Here are a couple of pics:

We set a couple of traps. Hopefully we will catch him/her soon! We're almost out of soap boxes! I'll keep you posted on our progress.
